Daisho: Survival of a Samurai is a free-to-play survival RPG for iPhone, Android and Windows PC, set in feudal Japan in the Sengoku era: you play the daughter of a samurai who fights with katana and staff, rebuilds her village and trains ronin while the warlords fight for the country.
Daisho: Survival of a Samurai takes you into feudal Japan during the Sengoku era. You play the daughter of a samurai, protecting and rebuilding her village while the warlords fight for the country. Craft tools and weapons from raw materials, fortify the village with walls and watchtowers, and explore a wilderness full of predators, bandits and rival clans.
Combat is built around the katana and the staff: swift manoeuvres, ultimate skills and the discipline of Bushido. Fight alongside the conqueror Oda Nobunaga, or align with another daimyo, in a game of strategy, adventure and history.

The setting
Japan in the Sengoku era
The Sengoku period - the 'Warring States' era - ran roughly from the Onin War of 1467 to the early 1600s. Central power had collapsed, and regional warlords, the daimyo, fought one another for land and for control of the country. Samurai served these lords; a samurai who lost his lord became a ronin, a masterless warrior.
Oda Nobunaga (1534-1582) was the first of the three great unifiers who brought the era to an end. A daisho is the matched pair of swords a samurai wore, the long katana and the shorter wakizashi, and it gives the game its name.
Daisho: Survival of a Samurai puts you in a village caught between the warlords of that time. It is historical fantasy: the era is real, the story is ours.
